Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series has cast Miya Cech as Toph, along with a new teaser video and confirmation that Season 2 production has begun. The first season was released on Netflix on February 22, 2024, with both season 2 and 3 getting announced shortly afterwards.
Now it’s time for some earth-bending, and the new video teases Toph as well.
The live-action is a series produced by Netflix and is based on the popular animated series originally created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The two creators were also involved with the project, but they left in 2020, citing creative differences with Netflix. Albert Kim then took over as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
Executive producers also include Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, and Michael Goi, while the main cast for the live-action consists of the following actors:
- Gordon Cormier as Aang
- Kiawentiio as Katara
- Ian Ousley as Sokka
- Dallas Liu as Zuko
- Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh
- Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai
- Ken Leung as Commander Zhao

Avatar: The Last Airbender (or ATLA for short) is an American animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Nickelodeon Animation Studio animated the show, which ran for 3 seasons from February 2005 to July 2008. There is also a sequel animated series, The Legend of Korra, as well as novels, games, and a live-action movie from 2010.
