Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms has revealed the creditless version of its opening video. The anime will premiere on October 3, with Crunchyroll streaming it worldwide and Aniplus streaming it in Asia. TriF Studio is handling the animation, with Okamoto directing it as the original creator.
The opening song is titled “VORTEX” and performed by Setsuko (from Kuhaku Gokko), while Hiroyuki Sawano produced it. They also worked on the ending theme song “karma,” which features lyrics by SennaRin.
The anime previously revealed the final trailer, also showing the main characters in action. The voice cast consists of the following members:
- Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Hikaru
- Tomokazu Sugita as Alma
- Yu Shimamura as Aki
- Hiroki Touchi as Aljis
- Romi Park as Jun Kagami
Mecha-Ude is an original anime created by Okamoto. The creator also directed the 2018 short with TriF Studio. It was made following a successful crowdfunding campaign, which earned about $67,000 in under 2 months. The TV anime will have Yasuhiro Nakanishi on the series composition, Terumi Nishii and Yoko Uchida on the character designs, Nurikabe in charge of the Mecha-Ude design and concept art, along with music by Hiroyuki SAWANO, KOHTA YAMAMOTO and DAIKI.
The story follows Hikaru Amatsuga, a young boy who meets Alma, a mysterious the mysterious Mecha-Ude mechanical life form that binds with his body. It fails and binds with his hoodie instead. However, he still gets involved with a bunch of other Mecha-Ude users and fighting against the evil organization trying to enslave the mechas.
